Farewell Rich Brooks

Rich Brooks has retired. The Kentucky program will miss him. He said it's time to let a younger person take over. His overall record at Kentucky is 39-47. His career record is 130-156. Joker Phillips will take over as the Kentucky head coach. In 2006 they won a bowl game. It was their first bowl game in seven seasons. They finished 8-5 that year that was the most wins in 22 years. Joker Phillips was the UK wide receiver in 1981-84. Joker Phillips was identified by SI.com and Rivals.com as one of the best recruiters in the nation. I think Rich Brooks will be missed. He was a Wildcat and he always will be.

  2. Thanks Coach Brooks you turned the program around and made it quite respectable again. Lets hope that Joker keeps it up...most of won't be holding our breath though. =(

  4. It was a remarkable turnaround after the horrid start of the first couple of years. There were people, myself included already calling for him to be replaced. What he has done for the program is take us from doormat to relevant. I have to admit I was worng about Brooks and he will be missed.

    Great Blog!
